Tracy White and Carlos Kessel have been doing big things to get people back into rollerblading for several years now. Through their LA All Day contest series and their work with the Boys and Girls club they have helped get kids off the streets and into skates (and hopefully back onto streets) for years now. Billy O’Neill for One Magazine SOTY

Billy has come the longest way and is very deserving of this nomination. He got ran over by a car over 17 months ago and underwent surgery and a years worth of rehab to put out a stunning section in the Truth II, by The Kelso Brothers and Austin Paz. He also spent extensive time touring Europe with the Conference and built his own frame company, Create Originals, with Hakeem Jimoh, and Brian Lewis. Oh yeah and he dropped a pro skate and a pro wheel. You can vote for Billy or any of the other Straight Jacket crew here. That’s right, Photoshop saved rollerblading. I’m writing this from the future to let you all know that with PS5’s new content aware feature finally magazines will be able to do amazing things… your friend looking like an idiot in the shot, gone. Dustin Halleran making a silly face, no more. With this revolutionary advance I’m pretty sure I will be able to make all you kids still skating in sweatpants have Vibralux jeans on with the content aware meets style help function. Or you could just get fresh right here.
